Welcome! This guide will help you set up an event for Minneapolis Climate Week. Minneapolis Climate Week is community-led, by design, to be responsive to the needs and interests of those engaging. A centralized calendar for distributed planning is a key coordinating component, and this guide will walk you through the steps of creating an event.
If your organization is interested in aligning with Minneapolis Climate Week, and you would like to consider becoming a sponsor, please get in touch at [email protected].
Event Criteria
To be included on the central calendar, please ensure your event:
- Happens during Minneapolis Climate Week! The published dates are 3 February 2026 (Tuesday) to 6 February 2026 (Friday), which is when the majority of people will be present and in town, but we will give visibility to anything happening between 1 Feb and 7 Feb (Sunday to Sunday).
- Is registered on Luma (Click here to add an event — detailed instructions below). This is how we can make sure your event is included in the central list for maximum visibility.
That’s it! Technically.
What follows is something of a vibes guide; encouragement, not enforcement.
- Share what interests you, what matters to you, what is important to you.
- That can mean specific areas like water, biodiversity, atmospheric health, sustainable minerals, food systems, etc.
- But it can also mean skills or domains like collaboration, advocacy, leadership, category creation, product management, negotiating, etc.
- And the robust beauty of people with shared interests sharing space means that any gathering sparks engagement. Panels and presentations can be powerful. So too can walks around lakes, saunas, trivia, etc.
- Be thoughtful. Sometimes a large gathering with serendipitous mingling is ideal. Sometimes a small gathering with focused discussions is ideal. And there are near infinite points between.
- Be welcoming and respectful. Be open to different perspectives, and be open to sharing yours.
